How to Know It’s Really Us

How we contact you

Every email about your reservation comes from Maxwell Mansion or Adventure Hospitality, with our name and logo. Sender addresses end in @staymaxwell.com or, for our connected brands, @adventurehospitality.com or @stayharborwinds.com. Restaurant and bar receipts, orders and promotions come from our point-of-sale partner, Toast, at an address ending in @toasttab.com. We do not send emails branded as our software providers, so a message about your stay that carries another company's name or logo instead of ours is not from us.

To keep your information secure, a few of the links in our emails open pages run by trusted partners. These pages always show the Maxwell Mansion name:

• Reservations, Guest Portal, folios and secure payments: rmscloud.com (our reservation system)

• Weddings and events (proposals, contracts and invoices): eventtemple.com (our event booking system)

• Post-stay survey: guestrevuapp.com (our feedback partner, GuestRevu)

• Restaurant and bar receipts, online orders, surveys and promotions: toasttab.com (our restaurant point-of-sale system, Toast)

Check that the address in your browser's address bar ends exactly with one of these names. Look-alike addresses add extra words, hyphens or misspellings (for example, rmscloud-secure.com, rmshotel.com, or rms-cloud.net).

What we will never do

Maxwell Mansion will never:

• Ask you to reply to an email or text with your payment card number

• Send you a payment link by text message

• Ask you to pay into a new or different bank account, or by wire transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency

• Ask you to "confirm" or "re-verify" your card details to keep your reservation

• Pressure you to pay within minutes or hours to avoid losing your booking. If you have a deposit amount due we will always clearly state when it is due. Our emails will always give you the option to call us and to visit our website to access the Guest Portal.

Paying by phone: We're happy to take payment over the phone when you call us at 262.248.9711, the number listed on staymaxwell.com. If someone calls you asking for card details, hang up and call us back at that number.

Signs a message may not be from us

• It's branded as a software or booking company instead of Maxwell Mansion or Adventure Hospitality (restaurant receipts and orders from Toast are the exception)

• The sender’s address doesn’t end in one of the addresses listed above, or is a free email account (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook.com and similar)

• A link leads to a website not listed above, or to a look-alike address

• It says your reservation will be cancelled unless you pay or "verify" right away

• It asks for your card number, a bank transfer, or a gift card

• It has a different phone number than the one on staymaxwell.com

If you're unsure

1. Don't click links, open attachments or reply.

2. Type staymaxwell.com into your browser yourself and select Guest Portal in the footer to check your reservation and balance.

3. Call Guest Services at 262.248.9711 and we'll confirm whether the message came from us.

If you already clicked or shared card details

Call your card issuer right away using the number on the back of your card, then let us know at 262.248.9711 so we can check your reservation and warn other guests. You can also report the message at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
